We refurbished the 30 year old apartment upgrading the bathrooms and opening up the kitchen and bedrooms.
Our approach throughout was to employ local materials and techniques. The floor is in-situ terrazzo, typical of many Mombasa homes, keeping the place light and cool. New windows and joinery work deliberately match the existing keeping our intervention discreet. We made the kitchen from 80 year old, re-claimed teak windows that can be seen all over Mombasa town.MOMBASA APARTMENT
